Call for Papers: "Networking Medieval Monarchy: Connections, Dynamics, Approaches"
2023 Leeds International Medieval Congress (IMC)
3 - 6 July 2023
Medieval monarchy relied heavily on social, cultural and economic ties. These links did not
enable the proper functioning of the regime but connected all elements of medieval society into a multileveled and interwoven network of ideas, people, lands and material objects. As many recent studies have shown, a comparative analysis of monarchical institutions across various cultures is a necessary tool for uncovering deeper trends and patterns. At the same time, the global approach might cause inaccuracies in language, which often falls short of grasping entities from diverse cultural contexts.
With this in mind, as an editorial team, working on a textbook of medieval monarchy, we would like to hear new ideas, research and feedback. We welcome expressions of interest for several
sessions/roundtables to be submitted to the Leeds International Medieval Congress 2023.
See attached CFP for details.
Deadline for proposals: 15 September 2022
